The Outdoors Await.

Hey friends! I’m Allie –
As an ex-competitive athlete, I felt a huge void in my life when I no longer had team sports to play. In my early 20’s, I started reconnecting to my active roots and through the challenging & exhilarating world of outdoor adventure. Not only has this limitless world of activity satiated the athlete in me, it’s also provided me a proverbial compass that continues to guide me to true authenticity and wellbeing.

I’m stoked to be able to guide you on your own adventure into the outdoors!

Check out all the sports I write about

Picking up a new sport as an adult can be intimidating and overwhelming, but everyone starts somewhere! I’ve learned a lot since I entered the world of outdoor sports with absolutely zero experience, and I am thrilled to be able to share it all with you!

Skiing & Snowboarding

Started out as a snowboarder, now I’m a skier… The ultimate betrayal? Or a practice in not limiting yourself to one side of a divide? I’ll let you decide 😉

Mountain Biking

From cross-country to downhilling, there are styles of mountain biking for every rider of every thrill-seeking variety – don’t let anyone try to scare you otherwise!

Rock Climbing

My most recent and most versatile obsession, you don’t need to be near big mountains to get into rock climbing!

Kiteboarding

The sport that has taught me the most about perseverance… 😅 while it’s been a complicated relationship to say the least, I’m glad to have at least one water sport in my arsenal!

Hiking & Backpacking

My most memorable and profound trips are always in the backcountry. It may be the most “Type II fun” thing I do, but something about the wilderness just hits different.

Adventure Travel

Outdoor activities have opened up endless inspiration for travel, local and worldwide. The bucket list may be monumental, but at least you’ll never run out of dreams to chase!

More than just fun.

When you don’t grow up in the outdoors, you tend not to care about the natural world the way you should. It’s not really intentional – it’s just sort of out of sight, out of mind. When it’s not relevant to your day to day life, it’s just simply not a priority.

However, when you start recreating in outdoor spaces, your perspective shifts. All of sudden, nature becomes much more than just your playground. You recognize it for the wonderful and sacred gift that it is, and you come to understand the multitude of reasons why it’s worth nurturing and preserving.

Discover the Pacific Northwest

There is no shortage of adventure hubs throughout the world, and, now I may be biased, but… there are few more expansive and alluring than the Pacific Northwest. Don’t believe me? Find out for yourself [insert wink emoji]

Adventure: It’s a Lifestyle.

It certainly hasn’t been easy, but with a little ingenuity and risk-taking, I have managed to build my life around my adventurous lifestyle. There’s no formula or strict guidelines to follow, it truly comes down to what works for you!

Thrifty is the name of *my* game

Sure, an AWD vehicle with taller ground clearance would be nice. But why forego my paid-off, fuel efficient compact sedan when all it needed was a little outfitting?
Adventuring and all the gear that comes with it isn’t cheap. But you don’t have to be rolling in the dough to make it work – you just might have to reevaluate some priorities [insert shrug emoji]

Food allergies never stopped anyone

Although, I can’t lie to you… it definitely doesn’t don’t make it easier. Backpacking is harder, travel is harder (especially internationally), eating with a group is harder… but it’s not impossible!
While I wish I didn’t have to be gluten free, it hasn’t stopped me from an adventure yet – even backpacking through Italy!
